FORT KENT (Sept. 27, 2017) – On September 18, 2017, Acadia Federal Credit Union’s welcomed AlfredaDumond into their ‘Century Club,’ a club that honors Acadia’s 100-year-old members.
Freda, as known by family and friends, was presented several gifts including a gift certificate to her favorite restaurant, another certificate to get her hair styled and nails manicured, a floral arrangement, a small cake, a tiara, plus balloons and a birthday card signed by nearly all 50 Acadia FCU staffers. Her birthday was the day before, on September 17.
“You are all so nice! I didn’t expect to get all this,” said Freda, upon receiving her gifts from Acadia. She asked,“Can I keep the crown? I would like to save it as a souvenir.” Freda gladly posed for several photos with family and Acadia FCU staff.
Acadia FCU celebrates all members who reach this significant milestone in their lives. Century Club inductees receive gifts of the same value, although they vary, depending on the member’s living situation.
“We so enjoy doing this for our senior members,” said Alison Voisine, marketing manager for Acadia FCU. “If theycan’t come to us, we will visit them in their homes. They love the attention they receive, almost as much as we lovevisiting with them.”
Three of Freda’s daughters and one daughter-in-law accompanied her to Acadia FCU’s celebration. Her daughter,Beverly Nadeau, said they have been celebrating Freda’s 100th birthday in different capacities for the entire monthof September.
Freda has a busy social life and enjoys shopping, visiting friends and family, and staying active, so it was her pleas-ure to visit Acadia FCU at the Fort Kent location.
